Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • hot water - 1/4 c
  • fine dry bread crumbs - 1/3 c
  • mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • ice water - 1/3 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • pepper to taste - 1 item
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • large onions, sliced - 2 item

How to make beef patties with onions:

Saute onions in margarine until golden. Add salt, pepper and sugar; cook until onions are tender. Remove and set aside.

Mix beef, bread crumbs, ice water, mustard and salt and pepper to taste. Form into 4 patties. Brown patties on both sides. Drain. Add hot water and onions. Simmer until patties are done. Makes 4 servings.
