Beef and lentil stew
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 3 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- parsley - 2 Tbsp
- stalk celery, sliced - 1 item
- beef bouillon - 1 tsp
- ground beef or turkey - 1 lb
- can mushroom stems and pieces with juice - 1 oz
- large carrot, sliced - 1 item
- uncooked lentils - 1 c
How to make beef and lentil stew:
Cook and stir meat, onion and garlic in Dutch oven until meat is brown. Drain off fat. Stir in mushrooms and remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until lentils are tender, about 40 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Makes 6 (1 1/2 cups each) servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Stew.
