Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 3/4 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- chopped walnuts - 3/4 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- eggs, well beaten - 3 item
- mashed bananas 3 medium
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Add to banana mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add nuts and mix. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/4 hours or until well done. This freezes well.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Yeast breads.
