  • eggs - 2 item
  • chopped pecans - 1/2 c
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • sifted flour
  • lemon juice
  • grated lemon rind
  • butter, melted - 1/3 c
  • lemon extract - 3 Tbsp

How to make very lemon bread:

Lemon Pour:1/4 c. lemon juice1/2 c. granulated sugar In a large bowl, mix the butter, 1 cup sugar and the lemon extract. Beat the eggs into the butter mixture.

In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. To the butter mixture, add the flour mixture, alternately with the milk beating just enough to blend. Fold in the grated rind and nuts. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350° for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes.

Remove the bread from the pan and while still warm, drizzle Lemon Pour over the top. Store, wrapped for 1 day before slicing.

To Prepare Pour: In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice and 1/2 cup sugar. Mix well. This is really delicious.
