  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • water
  • whipped cream - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 1 item
  • medium bananas - 3 item
  • egg yolks, beaten - 3 item
  • can condensed milk - 1 item
  • baked pastry shell - 1 item
  • butter/margarine - 2 Tbsp

How to make banana cream pie:

In heavy saucepan, dissolve cornstarch in water; stir in sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat; add margarine and vanilla. Cool slightly. Slice 2 bananas and dip in lemon juice and drain. Arrange on the bottom of prepared crust. Pour filling over bananas. Cover and chill 4 hours or until set. Spread top with whipped cream. Slice remaining banana. Dip in lemon juice and garnish top of pie.
