Baked tomato halves
Ingredients/Components
- butter, melted - 3 Tbsp
- garlic powder
- ground cumin
- seasoned salt - 3/4 tsp
- ground coriander
- large tomatoes - 4 item
- packaged dry bread crumbs unseasoned - 1/2 c
How to make baked tomato halves:
The day before serving, prepare tomatoes. Wash, remove stems and cut tomatoes in halves crosswise.In small bowl, combine butter with remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spread cut surface of each tomato half with butter mixture. Place in single layer, in shallow baking dish. Refrigerate, covered, overnight.
About 40 minutes before serving, preheat oven to 300°. Let tomatoes stand at room temperature 10 minutes. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes or until golden on top. You may wish to add cheese on top.
