  • milk - 7 c
  • butter or margarine - 2/3 c
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 2/3 c
  • 8 oz - 1 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • green onions, sliced - 4 item
  • shredded Cheddar cheese
  • bacon strips, cooked and crumbled - 12 item
  • large baking potatoes, baked, cooked, peeled and cubed - 4 item

How to make baked potato soup:

In a large soup kettle or Dutch oven, melt butter. Stir in flour; heat and stir until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add potatoes and onions. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes.
