Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chicken broth - 3 4
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- grated Cheddar cheese - 1/2 lb
- chicken - 1 (2
- slivered almonds - 3/4 c
- small can mushrooms - 1 item
- clove garlic or powder - 1 item
- chopped chives or green onions - 3 Tbsp
How to make baked chicken and rice:
Boil chicken until tender. Remove from bones and cut up. Put the margarine, mushrooms, garlic, onions, pepper, almonds and rice into a heavy skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until rice begins to turn yellow. Add chicken broth, which has been heated, and soup. Add salt and pepper to taste. Turn into a casserole dish, sprayed with Pam, and cover tightly. Bake in oven 1 hour at 325°. Serves 10.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Chicken thigh & leg.
