Apricot kolaches
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cream cheese - 6 oz
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1 c
- water
- dried apricots
- Garnish: powdered sugar
How to make apricot kolaches:
Filling:3/4 c. dried apricots3/4 c. sugar1 1/2 c. water Garnish: powdered sugar Cream butter and cream cheese; add sugar and mix. Add flour and mix well. Chill one hour.Filling: Mix apricots and water. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes (covered). Uncover and cook 5 more minutes. Mash apricots and stir in sugar.
Roll dough out to 1/8-inch. Cut into squares (4-inch square results in 2-inch Kolaches and so on). Place some filling in center. Bring corners to center and seal edges. Bake 15 minutes at 400°. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
