Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt
- flour
- water - 1/2 c
- baking soda
- large egg - 1 item
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- applesauce
- shortening or margarine - 1/2 c
- Beat in egg
How to make applesauce cake:
Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg. Add applesauce. Stir in flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and allspice and mix with water. Add raisins and nuts. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.Cream Cheese Frosting:1 stick margarine1 lb. powdered sugar1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese2 tsp. vanilla Cream margarine and sugar; add cream cheese and vanilla.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low cholesterol.
