  • pkg - 1 lb
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • water - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • margarine or butter - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • raisins - 1 c
  • nuts optional - 1/2 c
  • cloves - 1/4 tsp
  • eggs, well beaten - 5 item
  • sifted all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • coarsely chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • butter no substitute - 1/2 lb
  • slightly beaten egg - 1 item
  • bottle maraschino cherries, well drained - 1 or

How to make cherry pound cake:

Heat raisins and water until boiling. Take off heat and add margarine. Cool until lukewarm. Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 375° about 20 minutes or until done.
