  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda
  • raisins optional - 1 item
  • applesauce
  • butter or shortening - 1 c
  • chopped nuts as desired - 1 item

How to make applesauce cake:

Preheat oven to 325° to 350°. Grease tube pan or 2 loaf pans. Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add applesauce and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add. Fold in nuts, if using. Turn into prepared pan(s). Bake for 60 m
