Applesauce cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• nutmeg - 1 tsp
• soda - 1 tsp
• cocoa - 1 tsp
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• raisins - 1 c
• Crisco - 1/2 c
• cloves - 1 tsp
• unsweetened applesauce - 1 c
• walnuts - 1/2 c

How to make applesauce cake:

Cream sugar and Crisco; add beaten egg, salt and spices. Dissolve soda in applesauce. Add and beat well. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add and beat well. Add vanilla, raisins and nuts last. Makes a stiff batter. Bake in a 400° oven for 40 minutes.
