Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- brown sugar
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda
- cloves - 1 tsp
- thick applesauce - 2 c
- shortening butter - 1 c
- light and dark raisins - 1 c
How to make applesauce cake:
Sift dry ingredients together; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar well. Add eggs. Stir in applesauce. Blend in flour mixture in 3 additions, stirring in raisins and walnuts with the last flour addition. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes in well-greased metal pan, 8 x 11-inch or larger.Frost or serve with topping of Cool Whip or whipped cream.
