  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 3 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • nuts - 1 c
  • sifted flour - 3 c
  • raisins
  • bread crumbs - 2 c
  • apples - 6 c
  • Dough will be soft

How to make apple strudel:

Mix ingredients with a dough blender. Dough will be soft. Refrigerate overnight or for several hours. Divide dough into 3 portions.Filling:1/2 lb. butter2 c. sugar1 c. nuts1 1/2 c. raisins6 c. apples2 c. bread crumbs3 tsp. cinnamon Mix sugar, crumbs and nuts (chopped finely) together and divide 3 ways, also raisins, apples (peeled) and cut into small cubes. Add cinnamon and divide 3 ways. Divide butter three ways and melt as needed for each piece of dough. Roll dough out thin on well floured pastry cloth. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with raisins and bread crumb mixture of nuts and sugar. Add one portion of the apple. Alternate with crumb mixture. Spread evenly over all, then roll from edge like jelly roll. When rolled, pinch edges together. Put in a buttered cookie sheet and bake at 375° for 3/4 to 1 hour. Put each strudel in a separate pan.
