How to make apple cream tart:

In a large bowl, stir together flour, 3 tablespoons sugar and salt. Cut in butter or margarine until consistency of cornmeal. Pack into bottom and 1-inch up the sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan or 9-inch square pan. Press crumbs firmly.

Arrange apples on crust in rows or groupings that will suggest cutting lines for portioning. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.

In a small bowl, beat egg yolks and stir in heavy cream. Pour evenly over apples and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes. Cool thoroughly. Remove rim from spring-form pan and cut into serving pieces.
