Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- egg yolks - 2 item
- heavy cream - 1 c
- all-purpose flour
- green apples, peeled, cored and sliced - 3 item
How to make apple cream tart:
In a large bowl, stir together flour, 3 tablespoons sugar and salt. Cut in butter or margarine until consistency of cornmeal. Pack into bottom and 1-inch up the sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan or 9-inch square pan. Press crumbs firmly.Arrange apples on crust in rows or groupings that will suggest cutting lines for portioning. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
In a small bowl, beat egg yolks and stir in heavy cream. Pour evenly over apples and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes. Cool thoroughly. Remove rim from spring-form pan and cut into serving pieces.
