Ingredients/Components
- flour
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- margarine - 1 c
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- peeled, chopped apples - 3 c
- walnuts - 1 item
- raisins - 1 item
- Add eggs and beat
- white Karo syrup - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1 Tbsp
How to make apple cake squares:
Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add sifted dry ingredients. Fold in apples, walnuts and raisins (batter is very stiff). Bake 1 hour at 350° in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. While still hot, spread with glaze. Serve warm.Glaze:1 c. powdered sugar1 Tbsp. margarine1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup1 Tbsp. milk Mix all together and spread over hot cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
