Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon
  • sugar - 2 c
  • margarine or shortening - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • fresh chopped apples - 4 c
  • water - 1/4 c
  • self-rising flour - 2 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • Add margarine and cream well
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • butter

How to make apple cake:

Mix cinnamon with sugar. Add margarine and cream well. Add eggs and beat. Add chopped apples and water. Add flour that has been sifted with soda and beat together. Bake in 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Glaze, if desired, but not really necessary.Glaze:1/2 c. sugar1/3 c. milk1 1/4 tsp. butter Mix and boil for 2 to 3 minutes; spread on hot cake.
