Ingredients/Components
- soft butter - 1 c
- sugar
- lemon rind, grated or flavor - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 5 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cake flour, sifted - 2 c
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
How to make pound cake:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream butter at number 7 speed until soft. Add sugar gradually and continue beating until thoroughly blended. Beat in eggs, one at a time, on number 8 speed. Beat thoroughly before adding each egg. Blend in flavor; add dry ingredients. When all has been added, beat at number 3 speed thoroughly, beating batter. Bake in slow oven at 300° to 325°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
