  • sugar - 4 Tbsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 5 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • warm water - 2 Tbsp
  • dry yeast - 1 cake

How to make angel biscuits:

Sift flour, then sift again with dry ingredients. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix shortening with flour mixture. Add yeast and buttermilk. Knead real good. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
