Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- warm water - 1/4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add yeast and buttermilk. Stir well. Put mixture on floured surface. Knead a little and roll out. Cut with biscuit cutter. Great to make ahead; will keep 3 or 4 days in refrigerator. Bake at 400° approximately 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
