  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • margarine or butter - 1/2 c
  • chocolate chips
  • light corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • heavy cream, whipped - 1 c

How to make almond cream puff ring:

Filling:1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding1 1/2 c. milk1 c. heavy cream, whipped1 tsp. almond extract Frosting:1 c. chocolate chips2 Tbsp. butter1 Tbsp. milk1 Tbsp. light corn syrup Preheat oven to 400°. Grease and flour a cookie sheet. Bring water and butter to rolling boil. Add flour and salt. Stir over low heat until mixture forms a ball. Cook 1 minute. Remove from heat. Beat in eggs with wooden spoon until mixture is thick and smooth. Trace 7-inch ring on cookie sheet. Drop dough by tablespoons (12) to form ring. Bake 40 minutes. Turn off oven. Leave in oven 15 minutes more. Remove from oven and cool.

Meanwhile, prepare filling. Follow package directions to make pudding using 1 1/2 cups milk instead of 2 cups. Fold in whipped heavy cream and almond extract. Slice off top of ring. Spoon on filling. Replace top and drizzle with chocolate frosting. Top with sliced almonds if desired.

Frosting: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook until smooth.
