Wild rice stuffing
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/3 c
- chicken broth - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- parsley - 1 Tbsp
- diced celery - 1/3 c
- poultry seasoning - 3/4 tsp
- uncooked wild rice - 3/4 c
- toasted bread cubes
How to make wild rice stuffing:
Cook rice in salted water (3 cups water and 3/4 teaspoon salt). Bring to boil, then simmer, covered, until kernels open, approximately 45 minutes. Melt butter in large skillet; saute onion and celery until onion is tender. Stir in rice, bread cubes, parsley, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Gently stir in broth and egg. Spoon into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes; uncover and bake 10 minutes longer.
