  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • nutmeg - 2 tsp
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • sifted flour - 4 c
  • raisins - 2 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • chopped walnut meats - 2 c
  • condensed tomato soup - 2 c

How to make tomato soup cake:

Sift flour, soda, baking powder and spices together 3 times. Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients and tomato soup alternately in small amounts, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour into small greased tube pan or loaf pan and bake in moderate oven (350°) for 50 to 60 minutes. Let stand 24 hours before cutting.
