Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 4 Tbsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- raisins - 1/2 c
- sour milk - 3/4 c
How to make hot cross buns:
Sift flour once; measure. Add baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and spices and sift again. Cut in shortening. Add raisins. Add enough sour milk to make a stiff dough. Turn onto floured board. Knead slightly. Roll 1/2-inch thick. Cut with 2-iRecipe categories: For large groups, < 15 mins, Weeknight.
