Tomato dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 item
- salt - 1 item
- flour
- water - 1 item
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- large can tomatoes - 1 item
How to make tomato dumplings:
Dumplings:2 c. flour1 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. pepper1/2 tsp. baking powder3/4 c. water1/4 c. oil Fill large pot 1/2 full with tomatoes and juice, sauce and water. Season with oil and pinch or two of salt and sugar. Bring to a boil. Mix flour, salt, pepper and baking powder. Add the water and oil to this and mix until it forms a ball. Roll out on a floured board very thin and cut into small squares. Drop dumplings into boiling tomatoes. Boil for a few minutes, then simmer until done.
