Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg yolks - 2 item
- sifted flour
- margarine - 2/3 c
- finely chopped walnuts - 3/4 c
- slightly beaten egg whites - 2 item
How to make thumbprints:
Whip cream until stiff; sweeten to taste or leave unsweetened. Put through a pastry tube and make rosettes on a piece of wax paper the size of a cookie sheet. Put in freezer overnight until hard.These may be packed in various ways. They may be arranged on a heavy-duty aluminum foil baking sheet, the kind that comes with a lot of the ready mixes, and covered with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Or they may be placed gingerly in small tin cans, separated by a piece of wax paper.
To use, place these, unthawed, on filled tart shells, brownies or hot puddings. They will thaw slightly during the meal.
