Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- Superose liquid sweetener - 1 Tbsp
- lite margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- lo-cal fruit preserve of your choice - 1 item
How to make thumbprint cookies:
In medium bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, beat together sugar, liquid sweetener, egg and extract. In a small bowl mix together dry ingredients. Stir in the creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.Preheat oven to 325°. Roll slightly rounded teaspoon of dough into a ball and place on cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick spray. Dip thumb into flour and press in center of each ball to make indention. Fill with 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of preserves. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden.
