Thumbprint cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1/2 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour
• butter - 2/3 c
• egg yolks - 2 item
• egg whites, lightly beaten - 2 item
• nuts walnuts or pecans - 1/2 c

How to make thumbprint cookies:

Combine butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, salt and flour. Roll into 1-inch balls. Dip in egg whites. Roll in nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet. Make thumbprint. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Fill with your favorite filling (jams, jellies, decorator frostings, etc.).
