Thumbprint cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- egg, separated - 1 item
- brown sugar, packed - 1/4 c
- fine chopped nuts - 3/4 c
How to make thumbprint cookies:
Heat oven to 350°. Mix butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Blend together flour and salt; stir in mixture.Use teaspoon and form dough into small balls. Beat egg white slightly with fork. Dip balls in egg white. Roll in nuts.
Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet. Press thumb gently into center of each. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Fill thumbprints with jelly.
