  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1/3 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs, separated - 2 item
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • chopped Macadamia nuts - 1/2 c
  • hot water - 3/4 c
  • brown sugar, packed - 1 c
  • dark molasses - 3/4 c
  • milk, scalded - 2 c
  • baked 8-inch pie shell - 1 item
  • pastry crust - 1 item

How to make macadamia nut pie:

Mix molasses with hot water, blending well. Mix flour, sugar and soda. Cut in butter to form coarse crumbs. Line pie dish with pastry. Pour in 1/3 of molasses mixture. Top with crumb mixture. Repeat, adding alternate layers with crumbs on top. Bake for 35 minutes at 375°.
