  • cinnamon - 2 tsp

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans
  • milk - 6 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cooking oil - 1/2 c
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • Icing:1 stick margarine

How to make texas sheet cake:

Icing:1 stick margarine1/4 c. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 1/2 c. chopped pecans Heat oven to 400°. Mix together in bowl the flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Set aside. In a saucepan, bring to a boil 1 stick margarine, cooking oil, cocoa and water. In a large mixing bowl, place flour mixture and pour the cocoa in slowly over it. Beat until blended. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk in which soda has been dissolved. Beat until creamed well. Pour batter into a 12 x 18-inch jellyroll pan that has been greased and floured. Bake for 20 minutes.

About 5 minutes before cake is done, mix in a saucepan the ingredients for the icing and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add confectioners sugar and vanilla plus the pecans. Pour icing over warm cake.
