  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • cocoa - 1/4 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • In saucepan, combine water, margarine, oil and cocoa; bring to a boil

How to make texas sheet cake:

Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon; set aside. In saucepan, combine water, margarine, oil and cocoa; bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add sugar; mix well. Add sifted ingredients, beating well. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Spread in a greased and floured sheet cake pan (10 x 14 x 1-inch). Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.Frosting:1 stick margarine1/4 c. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 lb. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Bring margarine, cocoa and milk to a boil; remove from heat. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy. Top cake with nuts.
