Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 Tbsp
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • self-rising flour - 2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item

How to make texas sheet cake:

Frosting:3 Tbsp. cocoa1 stick margarine1/2 c. buttermilk1 box powdered sugar Mix flour and sugar in large bowl. Bring to full boil the margarine, oil, water and cocoa. Pour over dry ingredients; blend thoroughly. Do not use electric mixer. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well. Pour into large sheet pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Frosting: Melt margarine, cocoa and buttermilk. Bring to a boil. Pour over powdered sugar. Mix well. Spread on warm cake. Nuts are optional.
