Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 c
- white sugar - 2 c
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- white corn syrup - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- maple flavoring - 1 tsp
- broken pecans - 1 c
- pecan halves - 1/2 c
How to make texas pralines:
Cook sugars, milk, syrup and salt to soft ball stage (236°). Remove from heat. Add butter and flavoring. Stir until syrup begins to thicken. Add broken pecans and drop from a spoon into cakes on waxed paper placed on a cookie sheet. Press pecan halves into surface, working quickly because pralines harden rapidly!Recipe categories: Desserts, < 15 mins, Candy.
