Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- hot water - 2 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- grated Cheddar cheese - 2 c
- can sliced mushrooms, drained - 1 oz
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- medium green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- ground chuck - 1 lb
- small jar pimento - 1 item
- dash of crushed red pepper or hot pepper sauce if desired - 1 item
- can pitted black ripe olives, halved - 1 item
- corn chips, lightly crushed - 2 c
How to make tamale pie:
Brown ground chuck; add onion, garlic, pimento, green pepper, mushrooms, tomato sauce, water, chili powder and red pepper or hot pepper sauce. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Make a paste of the flour and water. Stir into meat mixRecipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, Beef.
