Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • butter, melted - 1/3 c
  • sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed - 3 c
  • dash of cinnamon and allspice - 1 item

How to make sweet potato casserole:

Mix sweet potatoes, sugar, butter, eggs and raisins. Pour into buttered casserole. Combine brown sugar, nuts, flour, melted butter and spices. Mix well and spread over casserole. Bake 20 minutes at 350°.

Optional: Add 1/2 cup Amaretto to the first mixture.

A whole cup of sugar may be too sweet for some folks. You may want to add 1/2 cup to start and add more if needed.
