Sweet potato casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- dry sherry
- cream cheese, softened - 8 oz
- unsalted butter, softened - 1/2 c
- sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed - 4 c
- black walnuts, chopped - 3/4 c
- nutmeg, freshly grated if possible - 1/2 tsp
How to make sweet potato casserole:
Preheat oven to 350°. With electric mixer (not a food processor), whip all ingredients except walnuts and nutmeg until light. Stir in walnuts and put into a buttered casserole. Spread evenly and grate fresh nutmeg over the top. Bake 45 minutes until golden.Recipe categories: Side dish, Potato, Casseroles.
