Sweet cucumber pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 lb
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- water - 2 gal
- vinegar - 2 qt
- celery salt - 1 tsp
- whole cloves - 1 tsp
- pickling spice - 1 tsp
- sliced cucumbers - 1 gal
- lime - 2 c
How to make sweet cucumber pickles:
Cover the sliced cucumbers with the lime and 2 gallons of water. Soak 24 hours; drain and rinse. Cover with cold water; soak 3 hours. Drain and cover with the vinegar. Use 4 pounds sugar and 2 tablespoons salt and soak overnight. Add the celery salt, cloves and pickling spice.
