Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • snipped parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • grated onion - 1 Tbsp
  • can broiled, sliced mushrooms - 1 oz

How to make mushroom sauce:

In saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter. Blend in 3 tablespoons flour. Stir in 1 cup milk and 1 (3 ounce) can broiled mushroom slices with liquid. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles. Add 1 tablespoon onion and 1 tablespoon parsley. Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and dash of pepper. Spoon over ham puffs or other main dish just before serving. Makes 1 1/2 cups sauce.
