Sweet and sour pork
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- soy sauce - 2 3
- onion, thinly sliced - 1/4 c
- rice - 1 item
- can pineapple chunks and juice - 1 item
- small green pepper, cut into strips - 1 item
- lean pork shoulder, cut in cubes or use leftover roast pork
How to make sweet and sour pork:
Brown pork in small amount of oil; add 1/2 cup water. Cover and simmer until tender, about 60 minutes. Drain pineapple, reserving the juice. Combine sugar, cornstarch, pineapple chunks, green pepper and onions. Cook 2 to 3 minutes. Serve over rice. If using leftover pork, it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to warm through.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Main dish, Pork.
