Sweet and sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 1/3 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- oatmeal - 3/4 c
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- ground beef
- can pineapple chunks
- can water chestnuts, drained and sliced - 1 oz
- maple blended syrup - 2/3 c
- green peppers, chunked - 2 item
- can beef broth 13 3/4 oz - 1 oz
How to make sweet and sour meatballs:
Sauce:1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks2 green peppers, chunked2/3 c. maple blended syrup2 Tbsp. soy sauce1/2 c. vinegar1 (13 oz.) can beef broth (13 3/4 oz.)1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced1/8 tsp. garlic powder1/3 c. cornstarch For meatballs: Combine ingredients; mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Bake in 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan in preheated hot oven (425°) about 12 minutes.For Sweet and Sour Sauce: Combine all ingredients except vinegar and cornstarch in large pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Gradually add combined vinegar and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear. Stir in hot meatballs. Transfer to chafing dish or fondue pot to serve. Great appetizer!
