Sweet & sour meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- brown sugar - 1/3 c
- water - 1/2 c
- chili sauce - 3/4 c
- hot cooked rice - 1 item
- lean ground beef - 2 lbs
- can whole cranberry sauce - 1 oz
- regular onion soup mix - 1 pkg
- jar sauerkraut, drained and snipped large dice - 1 oz
How to make sweet & sour meatballs:
In mixing bowl combine onion mix and 1/2 c. water. Beat in eggs with fork. Add ground beef and mix well. Shape into 40 balls. Combine sauerkraut, cranberry sauce, chili sauce, 3/4 c. water and brown sugar. Pour half of this mixture into bottom of 9 X 13 glass baking dish. Set rest aside. In a hot skillet brown meatballs. Arrange balls atop sauerkraut in dish. Pour remaining sauerkraut mix over the top. Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes at 325°. Uncover and bake 20 minutes longer.
