Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1/3 c
- shortening - 1 item
- ginger - 1/8 tsp
- allspice - 1/8 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- sage - 1/4 tsp
- soft bread crumbs - 1/3 c
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- chicken bouillon cube - 1 item
- hamburg - 1 lb
- scant flour - 1 Tbsp
- minced onion, sauteed - 1/4 c
How to make swedish meatballs:
Dissolve bouillon cube in boiling water; pour over bread crumbs. Cover; let stand. Steam for 2 minutes. Add hamburg, egg, flour, onion and all seasonings; mix well. Make into small meatballs. Brown in small amount of shortening. Bake in covered casserole dish for 40 minutes at 325°.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Ground beef, Beef.
