  • eggs - 3 item
  • milk - 3 4
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • box powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • almond flavoring - 1/2 tsp
  • Pat on a cookie sheet in two long strips about 3-inches wide

How to make swedish kringle:

Mix the first 3 ingredients as for pie crust. Pat on a cookie sheet in two long strips about 3-inches wide. Place the 1 cup water and butter in a pan and heat to boiling. Remove from heat and add the 1 cup flour and then the eggs, beating after each addition. Add the almond flavoring. Spread lightly on top of the pie crust mixture. Bake 1 hour at 350°. When cool, frost with Buttercream Frosting. One recipe of frosting is enough for 3 or 4 recipes of Kringle.Buttercream Frosting:6 Tbsp. soft butter or margarine1 tsp. almond flavoring1/8 tsp. salt3 to 4 Tbsp. milk1 lb. box powdered sugar Cream the butter and flavoring. Add salt and gradually add sugar, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in milk and beat until frosting is of spreading consistency.
