  • flour - 1 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • soft butter - 1/2 c
  • almond flavor - 1/2 tsp
  • Layer 2:1/2 c
  • Makes a soft ball

How to make swedish kringle:

Make like pie crust and pat crust into 2 strips 3 x 12-inch long.Layer 2:1/2 c. butter1 c. water1 c. flour1 tsp. almond extract3 eggs Bring water and butter to a boil, quickly stir in flour and extract. Makes a soft ball. Remove from stove and stir in 1 egg at a time. Divide and place on Layer 1. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour or until light golden brown. Cool and frost.Frosting:1 1/2 c. powdered sugar2 Tbsp. butter1/2 tsp. almond flavor1 or 2 Tbsp. water Mix and spread. Nuts on top are optional.
