Swedish apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1/4 Tbsp
- milk - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/4 lb
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- egg yolk - 1 item
- to 8 sliced apples - 6 item
How to make swedish apple cake:
Crumb Mix:3/4 c. sugar1 1/2 Tbsp. flour3 Tbsp. butter1/4 Tbsp. cinnamon Cream butter until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together, 3 times. Add to butter and mix well. Beat egg yolk and milk together; stir into mixture. Press mixture into bottom of 9 x 9-inch pan. Press apple slices into dough, overlapping. Mix and sift dry ingredients of crumb mix. Cut into butter until coarse crumbs are formed. Sprinkle over top of apples and bake in 375° to 400° oven for 50 to 60 minutes.This is from an old Swedish cook book.
