  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • pkg - 8 oz
  • egg - 1 item
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • chocolate cake mix Swiss or German chocolate - 1 pkg

How to make surprise cupcakes:

Make cake according to package directions. Fill paper liners in cupcake pans 2/3 full with mix. Mix cream cheese with egg, sugar and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop 1 rounded teaspoonful of cheese mixture into muffin mixture in pans. Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Makes about 30 regular size muffins or about 70 miniature muffins. (Use only 1/2 teaspoon cream cheese mixture for small cupcakes.)
