  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • butter or margarine - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 1 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp

How to make sugar cookies:

Preheat oven to 375°. Cream butter, oil and both sugars together. Add vanilla and eggs. Sift dry ingredients. Stir in and blend. Roll a teaspoon of soft dough into a ball, then roll in granulated sugar. Press down on a lightly greased cookie sheet with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.
