Stuffed bell peppers
Ingredients/Components
- clove garlic - 1 item
- cans tomato sauce - 2 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- cans tomato paste - 2 item
- shrimp - 2 lb
- Wesson oil - 1/4 c
- large onions - 2 item
- slice bread - 1 item
- bunch shallots - 1 item
- bell peppers, halved - 4 item
How to make stuffed bell peppers:
Grind together shrimp, shallots, 1 onion, bread and garlic; mix well. Add salt and pepper; stuff into pepper halves. Brown the stuffed pepper halves in heated Wesson oil and remove. Chop remaining onion very fine and saute in same oil. Add tomato paste and cook, stirring constantly, unti brick color. Add tomato sauce and 2 cans of water. Blend together thoroughly; add pepper halves and simmer gently for at least 1 1/2 hours. Serve over steaming rice. Yield: 8 servings.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Rice, Peppers.
